Function

Geotextiles are used to provide protection filtration, separation, reinforcement and drainage functions in soil, rock, and waste materials. They are also specifically used as separation and protection layers within structural waterproofing system, protection, and moisture mats within the roofing system.

Instructions for Application

The geotextile fabric can be laid on the ground loosely, depending on the type of application and site conditions. Before laying it, the surface should be clean and free from debris and large cavities. For roof applications, the geotextile fabric should be applied upon clean substrate, either thermal insulation board or waterproofing membrane.

Storage & Handling

Site handling and storage practices for geotextiles should be such that the exposure to conditions that may reduce or alter geotextile properties are minimized. To reduce exposure to elevated temperatures, materials should be stored in cool dry areas.
